| The baboon is an animal belonging to the family of the primates. This monkey has a lengthened muzzle which resembles that of the dog. Its face is without hairs, its chest and its rear-axle unit too.
The baboon lives in bands managed by large robust males which ensure the protection of the individuals. They live in Arabia and South Africa.
They travel in poor savannas and the rather rocky places, nourishing small animals, of greenery, birds and eggs. It is thus an omnivorous animal.
Its enemy is the leopard, sometimes but the baboon has an unsuspected force and manages to make flee the leopard which attacks it. Its hooks are of an imposing size and very effective.
At the time of the loves the buttocks of the female become red and it is what attracts the male, however it chooses a male that it côtoie for a long time. Gestation lasts 6 months and the newborn has a black fur.
At the end of one week the small baboon moves under the monitoring of its mom. Towards the 8 months age it only manages. At its second year its peeling takes its brown colour.
A male baboon will leave the group, whereas the female remains and can be fertile at the two years age. The female has one small per year.
The lifespan of the baboon is 30 years. |
