The rodents are animals of the family of the mammals. They are usually of small size like the rat or the mouse, but certain species like the beaver or the muskrat become a rather large animal.
The rodents are wild animals of which some have been domesticated, like the gerbil, the hamster. In the wild state, a rodent can cause damage, as the mice which eat the grain in the silos and leave excrements, the beaver which builds damns and floods nearby land.
The rodents must usually knaw because their teeth are replaced continuously and rather quickly. A rat which would be in a barrel of metal and without presence of wood to use its teeth would end up dying because it could not eat any more because of its teeth become too long.
The small rodents, like the prarie dog, often live in a burrow which they dig in the ground, others make nests with sheets in the branches, like the squirrel. The beaver builds shelters in water with branches.
The woodchuck which is a rodent that does not generally walk about, as in the majority of the species it is an exception. It digs tunnels and is like the other rodents considered as vermin, it likes vegetables of the gardens.
To get rid of rodents, you can use ball with mites, or naphthaline, which you put in the entrance, or directly in the tunnels and galleries that they dug. The odor is repulsive for the majority of the rodents. There are also traps to capture them, if they took refuge in your house, like the trap doors with mouse and the rat-traps. |
