The Tree Frog - Small Amphibian

The tree frog is a very small frog not longer than 2 inches (5 cm) which lives in the trees and which has suction cups on it's feet which enable it to be at home climbing trees.

The tree from primarily lives in Central America, South America and also Europe.

It is a small solitary animal which belongs to the amphibian family.

One can see two of them at the same time only during mating season, otherwise they are solitary animals.

The tree frog is most active at night because it is not fond of the sunlight. It hides in the leaves and branches to preserve moisture during the heat of the day.

It eats mostly small insects like the spiders and flies.

The reproduction occurs in spring in wet places like the ponds or other small courses from stagnant water.

The female lays hundreds of eggs and the tadpoles will take from 75 to 80 days to develop. When they mature they will join the other adults in the trees.

The lifespan of the tree frog is of 4-5 years.
